For my next experioments I have chosen Manjaro 18.5.1 with KDE Plasma - the recent-most version as of this writing. But I also wanted to try something other than Ubuntu. Manjaro has been at the top of my list to try, because I've heard many good things about it.
I would not want to rely on any OS other than Linux for any server setup, but for a Desktop OS it has always been incredibly hard to beat macOS for me. Previous attempts at doing this failed due to a combination of things, most of which are related to my personal preferences, but also have been at least in part due to some OS, UX or software limitations. I've been meaning to try Linux as my primary desktop OS again, to see if it has come to the point I am able to actually do this.
